Healthcare Summit chess game

Recent Healthcare Summit was nothing more that a staged political chess game. It revealed that both parties are trying to gain something for theselves intead of working together and serve American people. I think it is time for Americans to brake “two party” system in Washington and start a conservative movement that would work with both parties by adopting best ideas and voting either with Democrats or Republicans on certain bills that would best serve American people, a party that would respect our Constitution and restore it to its proper place. Both parties and especially Democrats clearly rejected American founding principles and are leading this country in opposite direction. If we will not react soon, United States will be no longer a leading economic power and other countries will dictate our economy. President Obama showed already how easily he is willing to give up our economic desicions to other world leading organizations like G8. Lets watch closely what is going to happen this summer on the 36th G8 Summit in Huntsville, Ontario.

President Obama’s road to socialism

President Obama is just one year in office. It is clear that the President is leading this nation into socialism. Growing unemployment, carbon footprint regulations and energy dependence, nationalizing automotive industry and healthcare, dictating salaries and bonuses in the financial sector and big government expansion. It is an open war against American people and private sector. That’s the big picture.
Washington claims that this administration created or saved 2,5 mln jobs.

I’d like to ask President Obama a question:
Which jobs specifically did the President create or save, how did he create/save those jobs in detail and how much money did it cost to save/create those jobs by providing 100 detailed examples?
Maybe if I can get an answer we can find the solution to save this economy.

Free market solutions benefit everybody

The best example that I can think of is the credit card industry because I experienced it first hand. Here’s how it works:
Lenders lend money to people who by borrowing it can afford goods and services that they would not be able to afford without credit and pay it back over time. Merchants expand their businesess and hire more people by having a credit line, in addition by accepting the credit card payments merchant’s revenue increases on average by 30%-45%. Banks are generating billions of dollars in interchange fees every time that the credit card is swiped. If people will have no access to credit banks will lose a big part of their profits and many of them will be forced out of business. Every sector of our economy is in one way or another tied into e-commerce processing and directly affected by credit availability. Even the government can collect more income tax from every business out there because thanks to credit everyone’s revenue goes up! and more people are employed and pay taxes. Simple economics. This administration either does not know how the economy works or simply tries to destroy it. Than, it’ll be easier for this administration to take control over our financial sector and American economy will become a matter of the state rather than a free market.

Credit card legislation – the story continues…

Here’s the latest update on the credit card legislation.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100222/ap_on_bi_ge/us_credit_cards_new_law

But I personally think that it will be worse than that. It is not only consumers (American people) who will suffer because of this bill, but we’ll see merchant’s profits shrinking in a very fast pace due to decreased credit availability and many businessess will have to lay off more people. Banks will lose billions in revenue that they generate from the interchange fees and credit card loans and even those new fees will not be able to offset the loses. If this administration will continue on this path unemployement rates will go up to 13-15%. But it looks to me that this is what President Obama and this administration want. They’ll have an excuse to say that only government can fix those problems and this administration will start to nationalize: automobile industry(first step was already made), healthcare – the battle is brewing, financial industry and the banks – President already started an attempt to take it over is just a matter of time – bailout money allowed this administartion to make the first step in that direction and caps on bonuses and salaries are the best examples of what’s coming. America will be a wealfare state…

Healthcare reform – How President Obama plans to create jobs….

President Obama still can’t find a solution to fix our economy after over one year of running the office and does not know how to create even one job. It seems to me that his only option is to pass the healthcare reform and take control over 20% of American economy. After this is achieved, President will be able to create huge beaurocratic system and create hundreds of thousands of jobs for not qualified people who will be responsible for YOUR healthcare and tell you what treatments and medications you can or can’t have just as it is in Great Britain and Canada. In time, he will transform the entire healthcare system, and doctors will become a government employees where their salaries will be capped. This will be very hard to reverse. In addition, we will have Electronic Medical Records that everybody will be able to have access to. It will create a new wave of discrimination based on your health condition. Potential employees will be able to make decisions to hire people based on their or their family health history. Doctors will be under the radar every minute of the day with EMR in place because the government will be able to check how much time it took them to respond to an emergency when something happened in other part of the country to one of their patients, how much time they spend on reviewing the charts and writing notes. Doctors are making life saving decisions on daily basis and are under extreme pressure and EMR will make their life harder without the TORT reform, knowing that there are hundreds of lawyers waiting for one small mistake…

Credit Cardholders Bill of Rights -2009 HR 627 is just an illusion not a real help…

Consumers believe that president Obama really helped them by signing HR 627. But is it true? This bill exposed consumers to higher annual fees and late fees, decreased credit available on the market and as a result we all can see less consumer spending which is not helping in today’s economy. More credit – more spending – more jobs and more taxes collected by the government… Do the math. Interchange caps would bring more chaos to our markets and only very few people would benefit from the regulation. Merchants would see more annual fees and very expensive customer support which now is free.

What can we learn from the Australian experience?

Interchange reform that took place in Australia was suppose to benefit consumers and merchants but not only it did not help consumers but also it destabilized the market and changed the way that credit card companies do business in there. Same thing happened in the US after president Obama signed into law Credit Card Consumer Bill of Rights which was suppose to defend consumers from the excesive rates that the credit card companies charge on credit card balance. Instead, we have higher annual fees, higher late fees, less rewards programs and less credit available for the people because credit card companies do not expose themselves to risk as much. This is what happens when the government gets involved in the free market – it destroys opportunity and wealth creation. I hope that the interchange fees will not be regulated in the US.

Interchange under the radar again…

The battle over the interchange continues… The subject inspired a good deal of controversy over the past couple of years and continue its way to Congress. Merchant associations are fighting to bring the cost of credit card acceptance down every year by lobbying House members to craft a legislation which finally would regulate credit card processing fees. The National Retail Federation senior vice president Mallory Duncan called me after reading my book and agreed with my ideas about how the regulation should look. I am surprised that there is nothing in the main media about this interesting news…except some minor articles in the newspapers.
