President Obama still can’t find a solution to fix our economy after over one year of running the office and does not know how to create even one job. It seems to me that his only option is to pass the healthcare reform and take control over 20% of American economy. After this is achieved, President will be able to create huge beaurocratic system and create hundreds of thousands of jobs for not qualified people who will be responsible for YOUR healthcare and tell you what treatments and medications you can or can’t have just as it is in Great Britain and Canada. In time, he will transform the entire healthcare system, and doctors will become a government employees where their salaries will be capped. This will be very hard to reverse. In addition, we will have Electronic Medical Records that everybody will be able to have access to. It will create a new wave of discrimination based on your health condition. Potential employees will be able to make decisions to hire people based on their or their family health history. Doctors will be under the radar every minute of the day with EMR in place because the government will be able to check how much time it took them to respond to an emergency when something happened in other part of the country to one of their patients, how much time they spend on reviewing the charts and writing notes. Doctors are making life saving decisions on daily basis and are under extreme pressure and EMR will make their life harder without the TORT reform, knowing that there are hundreds of lawyers waiting for one small mistake…

Consumers believe that president Obama really helped them by signing HR 627. But is it true? This bill exposed consumers to higher annual fees and late fees, decreased credit available on the market and as a result we all can see less consumer spending which is not helping in today’s economy. More credit – more spending – more jobs and more taxes collected by the government… Do the math. Interchange caps would bring more chaos to our markets and only very few people would benefit from the regulation. Merchants would see more annual fees and very expensive customer support which now is free.

Interchange reform that took place in Australia was suppose to benefit consumers and merchants but not only it did not help consumers but also it destabilized the market and changed the way that credit card companies do business in there. Same thing happened in the US after president Obama signed into law Credit Card Consumer Bill of Rights which was suppose to defend consumers from the excesive rates that the credit card companies charge on credit card balance. Instead, we have higher annual fees, higher late fees, less rewards programs and less credit available for the people because credit card companies do not expose themselves to risk as much. This is what happens when the government gets involved in the free market – it destroys opportunity and wealth creation. I hope that the interchange fees will not be regulated in the US.
